Clare Dalton (she/her)
Clare Dalton is passionate about creating a safe space for everyone at the intersection of LGBTQIA+ and spirituality. When she came out as gay in 2021, Clare worked for the next two years to navigate her faith and her orientation within her career with Seminary and Institutes for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to show her colleagues, her students, and local families that when Christ told everyone to, “Come, follow me,” He really meant it.
Since leaving her career with Seminaries & Institutes, Clare has been a part of the original team to create the Gather Conference. She was a speaker, presenter, and moderator at the first Gather Conference in 2023. For Gather 2024, she took on a different role as she worked with Austin Peterson to create the Gather for Youth program. It was so successful that the entire youth track team decided to expand their work to reach more youth in creating Belong.
Clare has been instrumental in creating the monthly Gatherings curriculum to foster scripture-based LGBTQIA+ conversations and hosts the third week of the All Out In The Open podcast each month.
In her spare time, Clare appreciates being outside, enjoying her backyard pool in AZ, being the favorite aunt for 15 niblings, beating her fiancé Ane on game night dates, and doing polar plunges twice a week to remind herself that she can do hard things.
