Dan Pratt (he/him)
Dan Pratt is a dedicated volunteer and steadfast ally for LGBTQ+ youth and families, especially within the LDS community. As a father of LGBTQ children, Dan’s advocacy is deeply personal and rooted in his faith, love for others, and a vision for inclusivity.
Dan actively participates in Phoenix West Valley’s monthly Ally Nights, Love without Asterisks, often hosting gatherings in his home to provide safe spaces for connection and support. He has contributed to LGBTQIA advocacy through appearances like his feature on the All Out In the Open podcast with Clare Dalton, sharing his experiences and perspectives as an ally.
In his role as a planner, Dan brings a hands-on approach to event organization, contributing to board meetings, brainstorming sessions, and technical setup. His goal is to ensure every event runs smoothly, allowing participants to have meaningful experiences where they feel a sense of belonging and affirmation.
Outside his advocacy work, Dan is a tech enthusiast who enjoys exploring drones and computers. He’s also a fitness fan and avid traveler. A fun fact about Dan is that he was once a state champion high school pole vaulter!
Guided by his values of self-love, compassion, and seeing divinity in others, Dan is inspired daily by the transformative power of love and acceptance. He often reflects on the quote by Gregory Boyle, “When I accept myself just as I am, I can change,” as a guiding principle in his life and work. Dan’s vision is for every LGBTQIA+ youth to feel authentically themselves and fully loved, just as they are.
