Sean Nicholes (he/him)

Sean Nicholes is a licensed psychiatrist and proud gay member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. With years of experience in mental health and LGBTQIA advocacy, Sean is passionate about creating spaces where queer youth can feel deeply loved, seen, and valued.

Sean has contributed to LGBTQIA advocacy in many meaningful ways: being a counselor at last year’s conference, hosting ally nights, speaking on panels about LGBTQ issues for youth, and sharing his insights on the podcast All Out in the Open. His compassionate approach reflects his dedication to helping others heal from religious trauma and find belonging in their spiritual journeys.

At this event, Sean brings a lighthearted, fun-loving spirit paired with the wisdom of experience. He hopes every participant leaves knowing they are not broken or flawed, but cherished exactly as they are.

In his free time, Sean enjoys hitting the gym, playing piano, exploring JRPG video games, and grabbing a bite with friends. A lifelong learner, he values kindness, openness, and transparency, believing these are the keys to fostering understanding and growth.

Sean’s favorite scripture, “Look to me in every thought. Doubt not, fear not” (D&C 6:36), guides his work and inspires him daily. His vision is a world where LGBTQIA youth carry themselves with confidence and grace, knowing they were created on purpose, for a purpose.
